: Find the Domain of y=(5+2x)/(x+5) This question is from textbook

Answer by uma(370)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

y = (5+2x)/(x+5)
The denominator is x+ 5.
The given function is undefined when the denominator is 0.
==> x+ 5 = 0
==> x = -5
Thus x can take any real value apart from -5.
So the domain of the given function = R-{-5}
Good Luck!!!
