Find the vertex, axis of symmetry, maximum value or minimum value, x and y intercepts.
f(x)=-3/11(x-7)2-9
Rewrite as :
y+9=(-3/11)(x-7)^2
This follows the form y-k=a(x-h)^2
Vertex is (h,k)=(7,-9)
Axis of symmetry is x=h so : x=7
Since a is negative the parabola opens down
which gives a maximum value at the vertex.
Let x=0 to find the y-intercept: y=-78/11
Let y=0 to find the x-intercepts:
(-3/11)(x-7)^2=9
(x-7)^2=-33
Means x is complex; so no x intercepts
