g(x) = (10x-7)/8

You can determine if the functions are inverses by taking the composite functions.
If (fog)(x)=x and (gof)(x)=x, then they are inverses of each other.
(fog)(x)=f(g(x))=f((10x-7)/8)
%28fog%29%28x%29=8%28%2810x-7%29%2F8%29%2B9
=%2810x-7%29%2B9
=10x%2B2
This is not = to x, therefore f(x) and g(x) are not inverse functions of each other.
