Question 55710: For the function, find the average rate of change of f from 1 to x.
[f(x) - f(1)] / x-1
x does not equal 1.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the average rate of change of f from 1 to x.
[f(x) - f(1)] / x-1
----------
The average rate of change from 1 to x is [f(1)-f(x)]/[1-x]
f(1)=[f(1)-f(1)]//(1-1) which is undefined.
So you cannot figure out the average rate of change.
