Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let p = pounds
Let C = cost
C = 0.39p

=====================

To find the cost at 39 cents per pound to buy 3.5 pounds of bananas, replace p with 3.5 and multiply by 0.39.

C = 0.39(3.5)
C = $1.365
We can say the cost is $1.36.
