Question 522819: suppose that f and g are a pair of inverse functions. if g(-8)=3, what is f(3)?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(3) = -8 since the input/output swap when it comes to inverse functions

In other words, if f and g are inverse functions, then f(x) = y and g(y) = x

This works the other way around. If f and g are inverse functions, then g(x) = y and f(y) = x
