Question 482617: f(x)=7x+9/sqrt 10x-25-x
find the domain of the function. I am having a hard time figuring out the steps to solve this type of equation.

I am not sure how your example is supposed to read; I am going to assume you want a set of parnethesis around the 25-x, and the resulting equation to be:
7x+ 9 /
So, the key here is that you do not want 10x-(25-x) to be zero or less than zero, as you don't want a negative square root.
In effect, it comes down to 10x -(25 -x) > 0.
10x -25 + x > 0
11x > 25
x > 25/11.
Your answer is the set of all real numbers > 25/11, because the square root of a negative number is not a real number.
