find the equations of both the vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the function
g(x)=7/x^2-4
**
g(x)=7/x^2-4
To find vertical asymptotes, set denominator=0, then solve for x
7/(x+2)(x-20=0
vertical asymptotes:
x=-2
and
x=2
For horizontal asymptotes, the rule is that if the degree of the denominator is greater than the degree of the numerator, the x-axis or y=0 is the horizontal asymptotes. In this case the degree of the denominator is zero and that of the denominator is 2
