SOLUTION: Find the maximum or minimum value of the function
f(x) = -x^2/3 + 2x + 7
x = 2/2(-1/3) = 2/(-2/3)= (2/1)(3/2)= 3 maximum
(-x^2 + 6x + 21 /3) = ((-x^2 + 6x + 9) + 21 + 9)/3)

: Find the maximum or minimum value of the function
f(x) = -x^2/3 + 2x + 7
x = 2/2(-1/3) = 2/(-2/3)= (2/1)(3/2)= 3 maximum
(-x^2 + 6x + 21 /3) = ((-x^2 + 6x + 9) + 21 + 9)/3)
= (-(x + 3)^2 + 30)/3
= -(x + 3)^2 + 10
y = 10

You are correct again! Do you happen to have a graphing calculator? Does anyone want to know how to check these with a calculator? Just draw the graph:
.
Does the vertex agree with your algebra result?? It does!
