Hello,
Yes, you are in the correct site. For this a+5=-5a+5 we first add 5a to both sides to get:
6a+5=5
Now subtract 5 from both sides to get:
6a=0
Divide by 6:
a=0
Hint: dividing zero by any number is always zero. But it doesn't work to divide any number by zero. Try it on your calculator. You'll see an "E" show up which means error.
Make sense?
