Question 334376: What is the domain of:
f(x)=sqrt3-9x
y=2x-4 over xsquared+16
y=2x-4 over xsquared-16
I need step by step instructions with notes, so I can figure these type of problems out on my own. I do not even know where to begin.
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Functions containing a radical with an even index (square root, 4th root, etc.) must restrict the domain so that the value under the radical is non-negative.
Functions with a denominator must restrict the domain so that then denominator cannot go to zero.
Note that your second problem has a denominator that has no real zeros, hence the domain is all real numbers.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
