Question 31164: I don't understand how to figure this question out, y= x - 3
Answer by gymnast2598(2) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To solve this problem, you have to make up a number to substitute for each variable. For example, if I put a 2 in the y's place, I would have to figure out an equation to make 2 equal x-3.
y = x-3 → put the 2 in the y's place.
2 = x-3 → find something for x minus 3 to equal 2.
2 = 5-3 → y = 2, x = 5
