SOLUTION: Problem: (x-1)(x-1)(x-1)=y. solve for x
I worked the problem by multiplying and got:
x^3-3x^2+3x-1=y
then went to x^3-3x^2+3x = y +1

Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x - 1)^3 = y
x - 1 = cuberoot(y)
x = [cuberoot(y)] + 1 = [y^(1/3)] + 1
