Question 29339: [5x+4/2]=12 It wants me to rationalize the denominator and simplify. The brackets are supposed to be the lined ones but I can't do that on here.
Answer by ikdeep(226) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
[5x+4/2]=12
open the brackets as there is no need for it at all,,,
5x+4/2=12
5x+4 =12 * 2
5x + 4 = 24
5x = 24 - 4
5x = 20
x = 20/5
x= 4......
Therefore the value of x is 4 and to verify your answer you can put the value of x in LHS of the equation i.e 5x+4 and you will get answer which is equal to 12 (RHS).
