i am supposed to use the factor theorem to determine if (x-3) is a factor of
f(x)=x^4+12x^3+6x+27 how do i do this
------------------------
The factor theorem says "If k is a root of f(x), then x-k is a factor".
---
To see if x-3 is a factor test to see if 3 is a root.
----------------
f(3) = 3^4+12*3^3 + 6*3 + 27
f(3) = 450
------
Conclusion: Since f(3) is not zero, x-3 is not a factor of f(x).
