Question 259965: The function p(q) = q^2 - 7 and f(s) = 9. If 2f(s) = p(q), what is the value of q?
(A) 2 (B) 3 (C) 4 (D) 5 (E) 6
Answer by rfadrogane(214) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If f(s) = 9 and p(q) = 2f(s) = 2(9) = 18
so, subtituting to p(q) = q^2 - 7
18 = q^2 - 7
18 + 7 = q^2
q^2 = 25
taking the sq. root
q = +5 and -5 - -- ans
