Question 252224: Find the y intercept of the line through A(1, 2) and B(-3, -4)?

First we find the slope.
Slope=(y2-y1/(x2-x1)=(-4-2)/(-3-1)=-6/-4=1.5.
Y=mX+b
2=1.5*1+b
2=1.5=b
b=2-1.5
b=.5 ans. for the Y intercept.
Y=1.5X+.5
