Question 227298: Hi, I have a question about how to go about this function word problem, can someone help me pleasee?
A student holds a ball of string attached to a kite. The string is held 1 m above ground and rises at a 30 degree angle to the horizontal. If the student lets the string out at a rate of 2 m per second, express the kite's height h(in meters) as a function of the time (in seconds) after the kite begins to fly.

A student holds a ball of string attached to a kite.
The string is held 1 m above ground and rises at a 30 degree angle to the horizontal.
If the student lets the string out at a rate of 2 m per second, express the
kite's height h(in meters) as a function of the time (in seconds) after the kite begins to fly.
:
The kite string will be the hypotenuse (2t)
The height will be the side opposite (h)
:
sin(30) =
.5 =
;
h = .5*2t
h = t
It was started 1 meter from the ground
h(t) = t + 1
