Question 213119: what is the domain of the function f(x) = (x squared - 1 )(-1) (the neg 1 is a power)
Answer by jonvaliente(64) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
can also be expressed as:
The only time that this function is undefined is when the denominor is 0, so:
(X+1)=0 or (X-1)=0
X=-1 or X=1
So the domain of the function(x) is all real numbers x, where x is NOT 1 or -1.
