You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Radicands must be greater than or equal to zero.

In f(x), the domain requires that
2x+%2B4+%3E=0
2x%3E=-4
x%3E=-2

In g(x), the domain is
9x-16%3E=0
9x%3E=16
x%3E=16%2F9

Please see my "non-traditional" explanation of "Functions, Domain, and Range"!! Go to my website by clicking on my tutor name "Rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com. Then look for my "MATH IN LIVING COLOR" page near the top of my Homepage. Select "College Algebra", and look in Chapter 2 for this topic. My students used to tell me they understood my explanations a LOT better than the explanations in the traditional textbooks.
