Break it up into two inequalities, solve for x, then combine them back at the end.
Inequality #1:

Add +8 to each side of inequality:

Multiply each side by -1 *NOTE* you need to flip the inequality when you multiply each side by a negative number:

Inequality #2:

Add +8 to each side of inequality:

Multiply by -1:

Now, just combine these 2 inequalities into 1:
