Question 210436: how do you solve this f(x)=(1/5)x

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To solve, you need to have different values for x.
After getting values of x, you can then simplify the function.
For example, say x = 5.
Then everywhere you see x replace it with 5 and simplify the function.

f(5) = 1/5 * (5)
f(5) = 1
So, in this sample, when x = 5, f(x) = 1.
NOTE: f(x) is just another way to write y.
So, we know that y = 1 when x = 5 for this function creating the point (5,1).
Now, do the same using other values for x to find corresponding values for y in terms of this function.
