Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
GIVEN:
g={(-8,-3), (-2,5), (1,0), (5,2)}
h(x)=2x+9
now what can be the following?
a. g^-1(5)=___
That is the x-value that goes with y = 5
Ans: -2
------------------------
b. h^-1(x)=___
That is the x-value that goes with x
Answer 2x+9
------------------------------
c. (h^-1 o h)(-8)=___
= h^-1[h(-8)]
=h^-1[-7]
That is the x-value that goes with y = -7:
-7 = 2x+9
2x = -16
x = -8
--
Ans: h^-1[-7] = -8
