The domain of a function is the set of all possible values of the independent variable, which is x in this case.
You'll notice that if x = 2, then the function is:
which, of course, is undefined (division by zero is not defined), so that, for this function, x = 2 is an excluded value.
Every other real value of x would be ok, so the domain of this function is:
(-infinity < or = x < 2) and (2 < x < or = +infinity)
