: Thank you in advance for helping me with this function problem. I am trying the difference quotient. The problem is find f(a+h)-f(a)/h
f(x)=2x^2+7x-4
this is what I have done.
f(a)=2a^2+7a-4
f(a+h)=2(a+h)^2+7(a+h)-4
2(a^2=2ha+h^2+7a+h-4
f(a+h)-f(a)=(2a^2+4ha+2h^2+7a+7h-4)-(2a^2+7a-4)
in the end this is what I got 4a+2h=7 Good???
