Question 124270: If y varies inversely as , and , what is the constant of variation? I have sought help from others and they went through a lot of work to unfortunately not find an answer, unfortunately I don't have the paper she worked on but the formulas left me with a migraine. Any help would be appreciated. with this problem done I can finally graduate.
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
inversely means as one gets larger, the other gets smaller
__ this happens when their product is equal to some constant
y(x^2)=k __ 2(4^2)=k __ 32=k
so, y(x^2)=32
