Let f(x)= m-(1/x), for x≠0. The line y=x-m intersects the graph of f in two distinct points. Find the possible values of m.
=============
y = m-(1/x) --- x≠0
y = x-m
----
m - 1/x = x - m
mx - 1 = x^2 - mx
x^2 - 2mx + 1 = 0
Disc = (2m)^2 - 4 = 4m^2 - 4
For 2 different values, the Discriminant > 0
4m^2 - 4 > 0
m^2 > 1
|m| > 1 (absolute value of m)
