You may go in  any  of two ways.

The first way.

First evaluate f(2), where f(x) = :

    f(2) = = 1 + 1 = 2.

And then evaluate g(f(2)) = g(2) = .

It is your ANSWER.

The second way.

Start developing the general formula for gof(x) :

    gof(x) = g(f(x)) = =

and then substitute x= 2 into this formula

    gof(2) = = = .

By doing any way,  you get the same  ANSWER :   gof(2) = .
