Question 1092366: Give the domain and range of the function y=(x^2-3x-4)/(x+1) Show Solution
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this can be factored into (x+1)(x-4)/(x+1) or x-4
the function x-4 is linear, BUT, there is a hole at x=-1, where the denominator is 0.
Domain is all real x except x=-1 (not seen on the graph)
Range is all real y, except y=-5, since x=-1 for this to happen.
