Question 1054032: Can you please help me with this problem?
Let the function h be defined by h(x) =14+ x^2 /4
If h(2m) = 9m , what is one possible value of m?
My attempt so far:
14+ 2m^2 /4 =9m
14+ m^2 /2 =9m
14/9+m^2 /2 /9 =9m/9
14/9 + m^2/18 = m

Can you please help me with this problem?
Let the function h be defined by h(x) =14+ x^2 /4
If h(2m) = 9m , what is one possible value of m?
My attempt so far:
14+ 2m^2 /4 =9m
14+ m^2 /2 =9m
14/9+m^2 /2 /9 =9m/9
14/9 + m^2/18 = m
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
h(2m) =  +    <--- substitute (2m) instead of "x" into h(x) = 14 + x^2/4
      =  +  =   --->
 = 9m  --->
 =   --->
(m-2)*(m-7) = 0   --->  m = 2  or/and  m = 7.
