Question 1051097: Find the inverse of the following function:
(2x+1)/(3x-2)

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(2x+1)/(3x-2)=y
change x and y
x=(2y+1)/(3y-2)
multiply through by 3y-2
3xy-2x=2y+1
3xy-2y=2x+1
y(3x-2)=2x+1
y=(2x+1)/(3x-2)
The function is the same as its inverse. This happens when the function is symmetrical over a line y=x and is called an involution.
