Question 1043461: State the Domain and Range for f(x)= -2+x^5 and f(x)=-3/x+1
how do I do this?

The domain of a polynomial function is all reals. The range of an odd-degree polynomial function is also all reals. The domain of a rational function is all reals excluding any value that would cause the denominator to be zero. Since a value of x that is slightly more negative than -1 would make this function value a very large positive number and a value of x that is slightly closer to zero than -1 would make the value of the function a very large negative number but that there is no value of x that would make the value of the function be equal to zero, the range is all real numbers excluding zero.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
