Question 1036393: Let f(x) = x√x − 2√(x + 3)
b) What is the slope of the tangent line to the graph of f when x = 1?
c) What is the rate of change of the function f at x = 1?
I have already found the derivative and got 3√x / 2 + 1/(x+3)^(3/2). I know for b you would sub in 1 and I got 1.625 but then c...is it not the same thing? what is the difference?

(c) is similar to (b). What is the value of the derivative at x=1?
Are you still stuck?

Yes. These questions are the same. Differentiate f with x. Both questions ask for the value of the derivative at x=1.
