Question 1023126: I am just starting to learn this. Majorly confused. No access to teacher for 10 days. (suspension) I'm hoping if I get an answer and explaination of a few that I can complete the other 20-25 questions.
Find three ordered pairs that are solutions of the equation.
Problem #1. x = -2 Problem #16. y = -6 Problem #22. x = 0
Rewrite the equation in function form.
Problem #12 -2x - 4y = 3 Answer?
Problem #15 4x - 6y = 12 Answer?
Problem #18 4x + 2y = 1 Answer? 4*x + 2*y -1 = 0 ??????
Is this function form?? I'm so lost.
Thanks.. Nissy..

Some help only:
Problems #1, 16, and 22.
If you expect to solve for just two dimensions, then x=k means all values for y are allowed. Pick any y value and this will work for x=k. Similar for a question of y=k; that no restriction is placed on x and you can pick any x value.
Function Form means, solve for y in terms of x. Your questions #12, 15, 18, appear to be in standard form, linear equations like ax+by=c. Solve for y.
Is the equation a function or not?
This means, does y have more than one value for any x value? If yes, then the equation is a relation, but not a function. If no, then the equation is a function. This assumes that the independent variable is x and the dependent variable is y. LINES are functions, but only if not vertical. Think on this logically, and understand that y=k for any real number k is a function; but x=k is NOT a function.
