(f-g)(x)=2x^2+x+5-x^2+4x+4 (change signs because subtracting)
=x^2+5x+9
if one wants (3) substituted for x, it is 9+15+9=33.

(f+g)(x)=3x^2-3x+1
and when x=3, 27-9+1=19.
