Can anyone help me break this down so I understand it. Should it come with two answers? (1,0) for example?
abs%283x-5%29%2B2=x%2B1
Thanks you in advance

In an absolute value equation, you solve two equations:

1. Write the equation substituting "%28expression%29"
    for "abs%28expression%29", and solve for x.

2. Write the equation again substituting "-%28expression%29"
    for "abs%28expression%29", and solve for x.

For your equation:

abs%283x-5%29%2B2=x%2B1

1. Write and solve the equation:

%283x-5%29%2B2=x%2B1
3x-5%2B2=x%2B1
3x-3=x%2B1
2x=4
%282x%29%2F2=4%2F2
x=2

2. Write and solve the equation:

-%283x-5%29%2B2=x%2B1
-3x%2B5%2B2=x%2B1
-3x%2B7=x%2B1
-4x=-6
%28-4x%29%2F%28-4%29=%28-6%29%2F%28-4%29
x=3%2F2
