 Hi there,
if a number is added to two third's
of itself the result is 45.
Make number = 'x'
1 + 2/3 = 5/3
5/3x = 45 Multiply both sides by 3
5x = 135 Divide both sides by 5
x = 27
This is the number.
27 + 2/3 x 27 = 45
Hope this helps :-)
