Question 987326: Is the function f of x equals the quantity 2 times x plus 1 for x less than or equal to 4 and is equal to x squared plus 12 for x greater than 4 continuous?
Yes
No
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x)=2x+1, x <=4
=x^2+12 for x>4.
No. At x at 4.01, for example, or any value greater than 4 the function jumps from 9 to over 16. The graph is of both functions, but at 4 is what the current problem is dealing with.
