Let The water melon be cut into two in the ratio 4x : 5x. The ratio 5 was divide into 7:8. Total no of ratio=15. So ratio 7 of 5 = 7/15 * 5x= 7x/3. And ratio 8 of 5 = 8/15 * 5x=8x/3. Out of the three pieces i.e (the first 4 in ratio) and the two ratios of ratio 5 i.e (7:8) which now becomes 7x/3: 8x/3. Therefore, largest:larger:large = 4x : 8x/3 : 7x/3. Multiply allthrough by 3/x ------>4x * 3/x : 8x/3 * 3/x : 7x/3 * 3/x -----> 12:8:7 {answered}.
