Carlene spent one third of her money on an mp3 player. She then spent 46 dollars on CDs to be transferred to her new mp3 player. She also bought some hoodies for 26 dollars and shoes for 81 dollars. Carlene left the store with 9 dollars in her pocket.how much money did she have when she started shopping?
I know what strategy you use (work backword) but I can't seem to get the answer let alone understand..
Please solve the problem and check the result and if you can please help me understand the answer so I could learn

If she spent 1/3 of her money to begin with, that
means she had 2/3 of her money left for everything else

Multiply both sides by
