There are 2 x^2 terms. Combine them.
Same for the 2 x terms.

3x^2+5x-4x^2+2x
first combine like terms
-x^2 +7x
multiply both sides of = by -
x^2 -7x = 0
now this can be solved by completing the square, take half of 7 and square
x^2 -7x + 49/4 = 49/4
(x - 7/2)^2 = (7/2)^2
now take the square root
x - 7/2 = 7/2
x = 7
