Question 880841: I don't really understand my homework can somebody solve this and explain to me how to solve this.
130x/100-x
This rational expression describes the cost, in millions of dollars, to inoculate x percent of the population against the H1N1 strain of the flu. Choose three values, representing different percentages of the population between 0% and 100%. Show your calculations and interpret your results in terms of percent inoculated and cost. For what value of "x" is the expression undefined? Why? What happens to the cost as the percent inoculated approaches 100%? Are flu vaccines worth the cost? .

Answer by ewatrrr(24785)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = % inoculated
C = IF this is Your Equation...
C(25) = = 130/(4-1) = 130/3
C(20) = = 130/(5-1) = 130/4
C(50) = = 130(2-1) = 130
C(80) = = 130/(1.25-1) = 130/.25 = 520
C(100) is undefined because has ZERO in the Denominator
As x approaches 100, cost become much larger.
Worth the cost??? Preventive Practices Cost pales in comparison to possible
medical costs and loss of life.
