Question 872858: A consultant charges a school fee of $300 per hour including 10% GST. The school hires the consultant for 2 hours but can still claim back the GST from the government. Find the net cost of the consultant for the school to the nearest cent.
I've done 300(2) x 1.1 but it's not right. Is there another rule that could make this easier to solve the net cost?
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
C + .10C = 300
C = 300/(1.10) per hour
C(2hr) = 600/(1.10)= $545.45
