y=2x+10
y-2x=10.................(1)
3x+8y=1448...............(2)
solve for x & y
-2 x + 1 y = 10 .............1
Total value
3 x + 8 y = 1448 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -8
Multiply (2) by 1
16 x -8 y = -80
3 x + 8 y = 1448
Add the two equations
19 x = 1368
/ 19
x = 72
plug value of x in (1)
-2 x + 1 y = 10
-144 + y = 10
y = 10 + 144
y = 154
y = 154
x= 72 number of $3
y= 154 number of $8
