Question 808554: I don't understand how to do this problem?
A line with a slope of -(1/2) crosses the X-axis at the point (4,0). At what point does it cross the Y-axis? (Hint: The unknown point has coordinates (0,y), where y is to be calculated. This point is the so-called y intercept.)
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Slope Intercept form, y=mx+b. Try solving for b.
b=y-mx.
You know a point and are also given m. Find the value of b.
