Question 776303: I'm having some serious issues with this equation. My instructor tells me it is incorrect, but every time I recalculate it comes out to be the same answer.
Can someone take a look at this and show me the correct answer, that way I can understand what I am doing wrong?
Q*= √(2 D Co÷(1-D÷P)Ch
Q*= √(2(15,000)($84)÷1 – 15,000÷60,000) ÷ 19(.28)
Q*= √(2,520,000÷.14)
Q*=√18,000,000
Q*=4,242.64
The feedback I received from my instructor is: The lot size for Company B is incorrectly calculated as 4,242.64. Reviewing the order of operations may prove to be helpful.
Thank you in advance!

Q*= √(2(15,000)($84)÷1 – 15,000÷60,000) ÷ 19(.28)
=======================================================
order of ops is do all multiplication and division in the order they appear from left to right, then do addition and subtraction in the order they appear from left to right
======================================================================
Q*= √2,520,000 – 1/4 ÷ 19(.28)
Q*= √2,520,000 – 0.01 * .28
Q*= √2,520,000 – 0.003
Q*= 1587.45
