Total investment
x + 1 y= 13900 -------------1
Interest on both investments
14.00% x + 11.00% y= 1754
Multiply by 100
14 x + 11 y= 175400.00 --------2
Multiply (1) by -14
we get
-14 x -14 y= -194600.00
Add this to (2)
0 x -3 y= -19200
divide by -3
y = 6400
