Question 464547: A store pays $1859 for 49 calculators. They paid $11 for each scientific calculator and $55 or each graphing calculator. How many of each kind were ordered? ? scientific and ? graphing
Answer by vyastj(1)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let X = scientific Calc. and Y = graphic calc.
X+ Y = 49 ........eq.(1)
Price of X = 11 $
Price of Y = 55 $
Hence, 11X + 55Y = 1859.....eq.(2)
Solving (1) & (2)
44Y = 1320
Y = 30
Substituting Y in eq. (1)....X+Y = 49
therefore, X = 49- 30
X= 19
Hence your answer : 19 Scientific Calc.
30 Graphic Calc.
