Question 448972: Can you show me the steps in graphing the following equation and identifying hte y-intercept?:
y=2x - 9
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's a straight line, so you need 2 points.
Pick 2 values of x and find y.
Any 2 points will do.
--------
x = 0, y = -9 --> (0,-9)
x = 5, y = 1 --> (5,1)
Plot the 2 points, draw a line thru them
--------------
The y-int is at x = 0 --> -9
