Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=2x
6x-y=8
substituting 2x for y in the second equation:
6x-(2x)=8
6x-2x=8
4x=8
x=8/4
x=2 ans.
y=2*2=4 ans.
Proof:
6*2-4=8
12-4=8
8=8
